It is mostly composed of food recipes but also contains some medical and household recipes. A brief table of contents is written on the first two pages. The culinary recipes cover soups, meat dishes, sauces, puddings, dairy desserts, jellies, tea breads, biscuits, cakes, and marmalades. The recipes include gravy soup, mock turtle soup, and soup a l'Italian; horseradish sauce; Albert, amber, Charlotte, fig, muffin, Oxford, and soda puddings; arrowroot blancmange; fritters; junket; potato scones; bride or christening cake and gingerbread cake; and grape and Scotch marmalade. There are also instructions for making cement, cleaning pastes, and clear soap.
