This coffee mill and grinder was patented in 1832 by the Charles Parker Company located in Connecticut. The company was started in 1829 and this was one of its earliest mills called the "Parker Best Quality Side Mill." A later model, known as the Parker No. 370 resembled this mill very much and was utilized well into the 1920's, according to Kitchen Antiques (Johnson 61).
