Food mills or graters, especially nutmeg graters, were very popular in the Victorian era and came in many styles and sizes. Although specific dates for this grater/mill could not be determined, based on the information and listings in 300 Years of Kitchen Collectibles (Franklin 35-37), the this grater probably belonged to a similar groups of mills that existed during very late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
