Chopping knives varied among the number of blades and handles; this knife has only one blade and required two hands to use it. In addition, the knife on the left, Factory-produced knives like this one first appeared during the Industrial Revolution in the latter half of the 1800's and were utilized throughout the remaining 19th century and well into the twentieth. Therefore, as a result of this and the composition of its materials, style and condition, this knife was probably used in the late 1800's or early 1900's.
