Date Details
According to 300 Years of Kitchen Collectibles (Franklin 530), this style of the Beriah Swift Company Coffee/Spice Mill was patented in August of 1845. It also states that this mill, or variations of it, could have been in circulation even before a patent was applied for or granted, similar to the mill referred to in 300 Years of Kitchen Collectibles. Consequently it is reasonable to state that the mill above was probably utilized sometime in the mid nineteenth century.
