Description
This 108-page cookbook was kept in Glasgow and Dalkeith, Scotland, and in New York City by four generations of women in the Moffat family, from circa 1798 into the 1850s. The authors were Sarah Hogg; her daughter Jean (Mrs. David) Moffat; Jean's daughter Mary; and also Susanna Moffat. The recipes cover a wide variety of desserts, puddings, sauces, meats, pastries, and other dishes. Included with the cookbook is a typescript written in 1953 by Susanna Myers, a descendant of the original owners, that describes the cookbook.
