Description
The front of this manuscript contains approximately 75 pages of medical recipes compiled by Andrew Slee, who was born around 1630 and was a Fellow of Peterhouse, Cambridge, 1650-1656. This portion of the book is systematically arranged according to the type of remedy recommended. It contains numerous references to Continental works.

The back of the book contains 37 pages of recipes added around 1775, most of which are medical but some of which are for food and drink. The food recipes include ketchup, a ham cure, flummery, marmalade of ripe apricots, preserved nectarines, yeast, and gooseberry vinegar. Among the drink recipes are punch, several wines, shrub, and orange brandy. The added recipes are in one principal hand and one or more minor ones.
