Description

This English book of approximately 150 pages contains culinary recipes and miscellaneous prose and poetry extracts. The recipes are organized and numbered with an index (the first two pages of which are missing). The compiler of at least the later miscellaneous entries was Helen Brackenridg, who inscribed and dated the volume in 1732. An earlier inscription with Latin mottoes and the date 1726 is likely in a different hand. A dried fern has been pressed in place at pp. 58-59.
