Description
This substantial manuscript recipe book contains approximately 400 food, household, and medical recipes collected between 1844 and 1935 by the Waldo-Sibthorp family of Canwick Hall, Canwick, Lincolnshire, in the United Kingdom. The book is arranged in two sections. In the front of the manuscript there are 137 pages of culinary recipes; in the rear there are over 50 pages of household recipes and remedies, which are written upside-down in relation to the front material. The volume was originally bound and given to Mabel Albinia (Sutton) Waldo-Sibthorp by her mother-in-law, Louisa Waldo-Sibthorp, at Christmas in 1882. The title was provided by the library cataloger.
