This volume of approximately 46 written pages was kept by the Beekman family of New York. It contains instructions for destroying vermin and dispatching other household tasks, as well as cures for illnesses such as rheumatism, lockjaw, and dysentery. It also includes many culinary recipes for desserts and baked goods, as well as directions for preserving meat. Many of the recipes have dates, ranging from 1800 to 1832. The book contains clippings from 1831, 1853, and 1871. Some pages of the notebook are blank.
