Description

This handwritten recipe book was kept by Ann Janvier Black (1811-1879) of New Castle, Delaware. The entries include recipes for cooking and baking, homemade medicinal remedies, and household items. Ann was the daughter of John and Margaret Wiley Janvier, of the French Janvier family, who were early immigrants to New Castle County, Delaware. She married Dr. Charles H. Black in 1837.
