Description

This 234-page manuscript focuses on culinary recipes but contains some recipes for wines and medicines as well. The book was compiled by a various individuals, apparently over a considerable span of time. In addition to the inscription by Anna West, other names are found on the inside front cover or on the leaf that faces it: Mary West (dated 1720); Hezekiah Walker, of Berkhampstead, Herts. [Hertfordshire]; Ann Burgis; and Ann Butler, Benson, Oxon. (dated 1821). The book contains 22 unnumbered pages and 212 numbered pages; it includes an index.
