Description
This manuscript cookbook, dated by the library approximately 1840-1915, contains recipes for wines, syrups, and baked goods, including "Johnny Cakes," "Honey Cakes," and "Cruellers." There are also instructions for pickling and preserving. Handwritten recipes and newspaper clippings of advice columns have been pasted to some of the pages. The library has surmised that the book may be of the Mid-Atlantic region.
