Description

This 60-page recipe book is inscribed on the first leaf: "Angell Knightley her Receipt Book. Anno 1732-1741." Written in at least three hands, the book contains 108 numbered culinary and medical recipes and several additional recipes that are not numbered. The culinary recipes include meat and fish dishes, puddings, pastry, sweet dishes, preserves, and wines. There is a tabbed alphabetical index in the back of the volume, written in a later eighteenth century hand.
