Description

This recipe book, compiled in an unusually large notebook (31 X 20 cm), was written by various members of the Milnes family, who lived in the English county of Derbyshire. The book contains approximately 280 culinary recipes and 180 household and medical recipes. Some of the recipes are signed "Miss. Milnes." The book also includes lists of wages paid to employees; lists of provisions, such as "a shoulder of venison" and "cheese for the servants"; and a list of books titled "catalogue of books belonging to Mr. Milnes."
