Description

This recipe book, containing culinary and household recipes, is written in various hands on sheet music and Confederate backing paper. It was collected by Jesse Edward Oxendine  (1926-2017), a North Carolina physician and pharmacy owner. Oxendine's Lumbee Indian heritage and his participation in the liberation of Wobbelin concentration camp during the Second World War led him to become a Holocaust educator and a collector of historical artifacts,
