Description
The library title of this book is taken from the spine and may have been added by a book seller. In fact, the book, comprising 167 written pages, contains many recipes for preserves, creams, wines, and other foods and drinks, in addition to medical recipes.

The book bears the bookplate of "Strickland Freeman, Esq., Fawley Court, Bucks [Buckinghamshire], 1810."  Dating back to the 11th century, the house was completely rebuilt in 1684 by Colonel William Freeman, an ancestor of Strickland Freeman. Today, the house is a Grade I Listed Building and is privately owned. Whether any of the book was compiled at Fawley Court or was merely acquired by Strickland Freeman is not known.
