Description
The recipe book of Maria Van Doren Nevius (1783-1865) is part of library's collection of the papers of James Schureman Nevius (1795-1859), a New Jersey judge. Also included in the collection are additional recipes belonging to Maria Van Doren Nevius. Maria Nevius was married to Peter Schureman Nevius (1782-1870), who may have been a brother of James Schureman Nevis. Maria and Peter Nevius were both born in New Jersey and are both buried in New Germantown Cemetery, in the New Jersey town of Oldwick.
