Description

This English volume of 176 written pages contains approximately 300 culinary, medical, and household recipes, as well as a table of contents and an index, both incomplete. The first two pages feature watercolor illustrations depicting a peacock and a fruit tree. Written in a number of different hands, the volume may have been collaboratively compiled as a gift to Mary Baker, who owned the volume at some point by Mary Baker. The volume is bound in vellum and housed in a custom case with the title "Cookery Manuscript Ca. 1730" on the spine.
