This recipe book, dated by the library 1828-1831, is part of the library's collection of the papers of the Agniel family, a merchant family of New Harmony, Indiana. and Phillipstown and Grayville, Illinois. The authorship of the volume is unknown. Most of the papers in the collection pertain to Charles (1812-1875) and Rosamond Flower Agniel (1823-1900) and their several children, including a son Charles D. Agniel (1847-1899), all of whom lived too late to have compiled the recipe book.
