This recipe book is part of the library's collection of the papers of Alfred Mewett. Born in England in 1895, Mewett emigrated to Ohio in 1912 and spent his working life as a sculptor and an educator until his death in 1955. He was interested in the history of 19th century Mayfield Township, particularly Gates Mills and Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and compiled an extensive collection of letters, diaries, and other papers of early residents. This recipe book is among these papers. It is located in Series IV of the collection.
