Description
This 116-page recipe book contains 141 recipes. A Strawberry Shortcake recipe on page 76 is attributed to Mary J. Lincoln, the first principal of the Boston Cooking School and the author of Mrs. Lincoln's Boston Cook Book, first published in 1884. Mrs. Lincoln's successor as principal of the school was Fannie Farmer. The book also includes recipes for Clinton molasses cake, saleratus, Albany cake, rice ice cream, and bologna sausage. There are a number of medical recipes and some genealogical material. Several newspaper clippings are pasted in.
