Description
This recipe book, compiled in the farming community of Colchester, Connecticut, is bound in the musical score and text of "Adams and Liberty," an 1800 Federalist campaign song in support of President John Adams in his unsuccessful bid for a second term. The book contains recipes for puddings, cakes, preserves, preserving eggs and salmon for a year, and for two favorite company meat dishes of the time, "Beef Alamode" and "Calves Head" garnished with forcemeat balls.
