This pocket-size book of approximately 50 pages is inscribed as titled by the library on the front flyleaf. It is almost entirely in the neat, attractive hand of its author except for the final few pages. Nearly all of the recipes are for desserts and cakes. These include two notably early recipes, one for Marble Cake, and one for Sand Tarts (which are actually a sort of cookie). The library catalog record states that the book is believed to have been compiled in California.
