Description
Elizabeth Cadwallader Comfort was born on February 3, 1823 in Lower Makefield, Pennsylvania. She married Jeremiah Comfort (1816-1887), and the couple had seven children. She died March 24, 1864, in Falls, Pennsylvania. Compiled in 1859, her cookbook contains recipes as well as general advice on preparing broad categories of foods, such as vegetables. The book appears to consist of notes taken for a cooking class.
