Description
This 152-page volume belonged to Maria E. Servoss. The book is dated 1854; some of the recipes contain dates from 1854 through the 1870s. The recipes focus on cakes, puddings, various baked goods, pickles, and soups. Laid into the volume are some loose sheets with pencil sketches of people; a piece of bark with a painting of flowers; and several loose clippings that may date from the early 20th century. There are also pencil sketches for an incubator, dated 1882.

Maria E. Servoss was the daughter of Thomas L. Servoss (1786-1866) and Louise Hall Pintard Servoss, who was the daughter of John Pintard, one of the founders of the New-York Historical Society.
