This item comprises sixty-eight culinary and medical recipes, of which thirty have been written in a notebook, twenty have been pasted to the notebook pages, and eighteen have been loosely inserted between the notebook pages. The culinary recipes written in the manuscript include Westphalia hams, English catchup, beef steaks and oyster loaves as well as several for cakes, vinegars, and puddings. Two medical recipes are attributed to "Dr. Good." A letter pasted in the notebook is addressed "To Mrs. Barker at Mr. Priestly's Wollen-Draper in Petergate." Another letter, inserted, is dated Dec. 28, 173[?] and addressed to "Miss Napleton, Canterbury."
