Description
Elizabeth Landor (1743-1829) was born Elizabeth Savage at Warwick, England. She married physician Walter Landor (1732-1806?) in April 1774. The Landors lived in Warwick and had seven children, all of whom lived into adulthood. The eldest was the writer, poet, and activist Walter Savage Landor (1775-1864). The Landor family lived on estates in Warwick and Ipsley Court, Warwickshire.

The first fourteen leaves of the volume contain comparative weights and measures and arithmetic exercises. The remainder of the volume is given over to recipes for wines, sauces, meat dishes, puddings, cakes, and tarts. Some recipes are attributed to Mrs. Jago, Mrs. Clarke, Mrs. Wild, Mrs. Gregory, Mrs. Trehernes, and other persons.  Fifteen leaves with recipes are laid in the volume. Several are addressed to Mrs. Landor in Warwick and Ipsley Court, and one to Dr. Landor.
