Description

This book is largely the work of a single unknown author. It is inscribed "Beechwood, August 1836" at the front; some individual recipes bear dates between 1832 and 1870. The book contains recipes for meats, fowl, fish, oysters, lobster, soups, omelets, preserves, puddings, "potatoe chips," and "Passover cakes," as well as several recipes for yeast. Some recipes have French or other continental headings. There are also a few remedies for headache. Many recipes are attributed to their contributors.
