Description
Compiled by the Schofield family of New York City, this book contains approximately 150 recipes divided into labeled sections for soups, entrees, desserts, and breakfasts. The volume was bound in 1929, but some recipes date from well before that time.

In addition to recipes, the volume includes inventories of household linens, china, and silver taken in January 1918. It also provides very detailed accounts of parties given, including one on Thanksgiving Day 1877, which featured an eight course menu for 28 guests; quantities and vendors are listed, along with amounts left and comments. Also described are a December 12, 1904 party; a tea given on January 21, 1885 for 230 people; and a May 2 supper party for 41.
