Mary Elizabeth Saltonstall (1788-1858) was the wife of Leverett Saltonstall (1783-1845), who served in the Massachusetts legislature and the U. S. Congress. He was the great-grandfather of Leverett Saltonstall (1892-1979), the fifty-fifth governor of Massachusetts and U. S. senator from Massachusetts from 1945 to 1967.
