Apparently, this book of cures and recipes was kept at some point by W. Walker of Manor House, in Hayes-Middlesex, England, an ancient town that is now part of west London. "Cookers" (in the title) is the usual English word for kitchen stoves. The title must have been added after the start date of the manuscript, in 1802, for at that time stoves were not yet in use.
