This English cookbook of 36 pages is dated March 13, 1803, on the inside back cover. The book is written in four or more anonymous hands, all of which appear throughout the volume, suggesting that the book was a collaborative project. The book contains sixty-five culinary recipes, including tea biscuits (page 1), gingerbread nuts (page 2), candied horehound (page 7), sago pudding (page 11), Gloucester jelly (page 11), lamb chops (page 14), a method of preserving fruit without sugar for house or sea stores (page 16), apple omelet (page 19), black currant wine (page 28), ginger beer (page 29), and pancakes (page 35).
