This recipe book is inscribed by C.M. Jones on the inside back cover of the notebook. Watermarks in the paper (pages 29-41) date to 1805. Pages 1-15 of the 60-page book contain fourteen recipes for food and drink. Nine of these recipes outline various wines, including four recipes for ginger wine. There are also recipes for devil’s pot (page 4), Mother Eve’s pudding (page 7), and calf’s feet jelly (page 11). Pages 16-51 are blank. Pages 52-60 contain eight household and cosmetic recipes. Some of the recipes are attributed to various individuals, including Mrs. Briggs (page 12), Mrs. H. Powell of Hill, Eaton (page 13), and Mrs. E.
