Samuel Lohr kept this four-column account book (not in chronological or alphabetical order) to record his purchases of household goods, cloth, boards, beef fat, corn, wheat, veal, pork, rye, apples, tobacco, coal, stone and gravel for a turnpike, iron, and plowing, plus some income entries (sale of a horse). The entries are crossed out indicating they were transferred to a ledger. The first seven pages contain cures and recipes.
