Description
Hubbard S. Bosley (1832-1910) was a planter from Coushatta Chute, Red River Parish, Louisiana. In 1856, he married Mary B. Powell (1837-1883), who had assumed management of Mount Flat Plantation following the death of her first husband, William Powell, in 1854. The couple had six children: Eugenia C. (b. 1857, died in infancy), Thomas Randolph S. (b. 1858), Alexandra (1861-1864), Marion Powell (b. 1863), Urnesteen Louisiana (b.1865), and Milton Hubbard (b. 1868). Bosley owned Telegram Plantation and his sons, Marion and Milton, owned Bosley and Brother, Merchants of Coushatta, Louisiana.

The collection includes a notebook containing recipes and birth and death dates of Hubbard S. Bosley’s children and his marriage to Mary Powell, 1856-1868.
