This volume of 29 leaves was written somewhere in the northeastern United States, mostly by a single author. It is largely given over to medical recipes and gardening instructions, including how to transplant trees and how to cultivate and prune grapes, berries, and fruit trees. However, it also contains a few recipes for breads, cakes, custards, puddings, and wines. One handwritten item is dated 1859. Among the numerous recipes, prescriptions, and clippings laid in to the volume are a few are dated 1862-1864.
