Description
This front of this volume contains a diary kept by George A. Child, a farmer in Monson, Maine,  between May 13, 1845 and October 7, 1846. In addition to recording details of his daily life, including weather, livestock purchased, eggs sold, work done for hire, and social events, Monson also used his diary to write recipes. After Child died, in 1859, the volume was used by one or more other individuals as an account book. The names Greenwood C. Child and Mary S. Jackson appear among the accounts.
