1600-1699Description
This recipe book was written by several individuals in a variety of secretary and book hands. The inclusion of Paracelsus in the recipes, as well as the watermark, suggest that the book was mostly compiled during the first half of the seventeenth century, albeit with some later additions. The dates 1647 and 1649, which are written toward the end of the volume, corroborate this conjecture. The book contains both medical and culinary recipes in two separate sections. There is also a complete table of contents.
