Description

Compiled around the turn of the eighteenth century, this English recipe book contains approximately 100 pages of culinary and medical recipes in several different hands. The manuscript is organized in four sections: medicine, recipes coming from Lady Bray, distillation, and cookery. Some of the recipes are attributed to a specific woman or man, with a note if it was tested; in some instances, the name of the person who tested it is also given.
