Description

This memorandum book records wages paid, as well as purchases of cream, butter, and other items, including a dress, cherries, yeast, a book, chickens, children's hats, white wash brush, blackberries, veal, lard, and licorice. The book also includes Bible quotations and recipes for plum pudding, coconut pudding, ginger bread, raspberry brandy, calves feet jelly, pickles, oyster pie, and other dishes. The library has dated the book nineteenth century; the recipes suggest that it may have been at least partly compiled before 1865.
