The first page of this cookbook is inscribed "Mrs. T. Grange Simons, Charleston, So.Ca." and "Miss Kate Simons, Charleston." The volume contains recipes for beef dishes, "Minced Oysters," cakes (including "Confederate Cake"), sweet wafers, puddings, breads, jellies, ketchup, lime syrup, pickles, and other foods.
