Description
This 318-page English recipe book contains culinary, medical, and household recipes, as well as an alphabetical index in the back. Most of the book is in a single hand, possibly that of Elizabeth Warren, who inscribed her name and "Langord 1808" on the inside front cover and on the recto of the front flyleaf. A different author, writing in a late nineteenth century hand, added several recipes in the back of the volume.

The book's culinary recipes cover cured and potted meats, breads, puddings, preserves, custards, and wines. Some recipes for rice dishes and sauces imply an Indian influence. Among the household recipes are instructions for cleaning linen, silver, and brass and for removing stains from fabrics and leather.
