Nannie Stewart Cushman (1832-1910) was born in Annapolis, Maryland, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Johnston Stewart. She married Dr. Charles Haddock Cushman (1831-1883), a naval officer, in 1855. The library's collection of her papers contains biographical information as well as her recipes.
