1865Description
The back of the third page of this book is signed "Sally J. Seeley recipe book Nov 6th 1865." The book may have originated in Pittsburgh, for newspaper clippings pasted onto the final pages of the volume contain advertisements for Pittsburgh businesses.
The collection contains over 100 recipes, primarily for cakes, cookies, pies, hot desserts (including an unusual Wapsie pudding), and breads (including corn muffins). A doughnut recipe was contributed by a Mrs. Mellon.
