Description
This cookbook was compiled by Maria Seymour (1838-1878) in 1854. Maria Seymour was the daughter of Origen Storrs Seymour (1804-1882), who was a member of the United States House of Representatives from 1851 to 1855, a Connecticut Superior Court justice from 1856 to 1864, Democratic candidate for governor of Connecticut in 1864-65, and Chief Justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court from 1873 to 1874, when he reached mandatory retirement age.
