Description
Arvilla Pratt Latimer (1799-1879) was a descendant of William Pratt (1609-1678), one of the earliest English Puritan settlers of Connecticut. In 1830, Arvilla Pratt married William Latimer (ca. 1786-1868), a veteran of the War of 1812, following the death of William's first wife, who was Arvilla's sister Mary Pratt (1790-1829). The couple lived in Essex, Connecticut. "Find-a-Grave" does not indicate that they had children, although William had two children with his first wife, who were still young when he married Arvilla. The couple lived the Pratt family house, which was built in 1732 and is now operated as a museum.
