Description

Henry Noble Day (1808-1890) was a philosopher, academic, and author. He was married to Jane Louisa (Marble) Day (1809-1893). The couple had four children born between 1838 and 1848, one of whom died in infancy, and three of whom lived into the twentieth century. The library's collection of the Day family papers contains an unspecified number of recipe books compiled by members of Henry Noble Day's family. The cookbooks are undated, but Manuscript Cookbooks Survey presumes that the books likely span the latter two thirds of the nineteenth century.
