This English recipe book, signed by Phoebe Porter, is titled "Receipt Book" on the front cover and is dated 1829 on the inside front cover. It contains approximately 99 pages of handwritten recipes, some of which are medical, as well as clippings from unspecified printed sources that are pasted to the leaves. Additional handwritten and printed recipes are loosely inserted in the volume, one recipe dated 1858, another July 1866.
