Description

This 104-page English recipe book is principally in the hand of the original author but also contains additions by other individuals. The original author wrote culinary recipes from the front of the volume and medical recipes from the back. The later writers did not consistently follow this plan. The book includes "An Elegy on the death of Mrs. Lake, who died Septemb. 3, 1714," written on a bifolium that has become detached from the volume and is now inserted at the end. It also includes an anti-Jacobite poem.
